Older drivers in the Waitaki district have an opportunity to
refresh their driving skills and update their knowledge of
the road rules this year through free workshops offered as
part of a road safety initiative.
A report recommends resource consent be granted for the
Kakanui camping ground, but with conditions that address
issues raised by those who oppose its operation.
In the tiny wine-producing region of the Waitaki Valley,

The dwindling population of wild bees has prompted a plea to
the Waitaki District Council to make it easier for people to
have hives in residential areas.
Camping grounds owned and operated by the Waitaki District
Council could be handed to the private sector to manage,
including popular summer destinations around the Waitaki
lakes.
