Two Queensland police officers have been assaulted in
separate incidents overnight.
A 39-year-old woman has been charged after she allegedly
attacked an officer with a piece of wood at Mount Morgan in
Central Queensland around 10.15 (AEST) last night.
The officer has been treated at Mount Morgan Base Hospital
for leg and head injuries and released.
The woman has been charged with assault occasioning bodily
harm and obstructing police and is due to appear in
Rockhampton Magistrates Court on December 14.
In a separate incident, a 33-year-old man has been charged
over the assault of an officer in Cairns in far north
Queensland.
The male constable was attacked while talking to a group of
people drinking in a public place about 7.20 last night.
The man has been charged with serious assault and obstructing
police and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court
today.
