Asbestos around Kurnell that was exposed when older houses were damaged by the record-breaking 213km/h winds and tornado had been contained by the NSW Fire and Rescue Service, Superintendent Greg Rankin told AAP.
The service would focus today on helping residents lug rubbish, clear trees and repair roofs,
Eight fire trucks have been requested by the State Emergency Service, who are hoping a work blitz today will knock over much of the repairs needed before the area can start to recover.
