A rescue helicopter has had a near miss with a wayward drone on the Gold Coast.
The Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter had to take evasive action to avoid the drone while flying over Burleigh Heads on yesterday afternoon.
"It does highlight the importance of people being aware and following the safety rules, part of those is staying under 400 feet and never causing a hazard to an aircraft," Civil Aviation Safety Authority spokesman Peter Gibson told AAP.
