Pictures from the 1986 Flood in Kakanui which did far more damage than flooding overnight. The flood occurred on 3rd March 1986, when two 100-year floods hit the area within 24 hours of each other, washing out the road at the southern approach to the Kakanui Bridge and causing extensive flooding in Kakanui and Maheno areas.
