The walls of the Ground Zero youth centre in Oamaru have been covered with graffiti - but it is art, not vandalism.

Earlier this year, nine young people took part in a two-day graffiti education workshop, organised by the TAG (Totally Against Graffiti) group, and involving graffiti artist Janine Williams, also known as Lady Diva.

The canvases painted during the workshop have gone on display at Ground Zero in Ribble St.

The group's next project is a community mural and it was hoped a local artist would be interested in working alongside young people to help plan and develop the artwork, TAG co-ordinator Esther Dupu said.
