Three members of a Timaru family were arrested at the weekend
for drink-driving in separate incidents.
Police booked a 15-year-old boy for drink-driving on State
Highway 1 near Timaru in the early hours of Saturday morning,
The Dominion Post reported.
He blew 529 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath -- more
than 3-1/2 times the youth legal limit.
When he was taken to Timaru police station his mother was
called to collect him.
However, on her way she was booked for drink-driving with a
level of 776mcg, nearly twice the legal limit.
Then as they waited at the police station for the woman's
partner to pick the two up, he was stopped and arrested after
blowing 559mcg.
