Police make another plea for information in missing child case.

Invercargill Police are still seeking help from the public to locate a missing 11-year-old boy believed to be with his stepfather.

Police want to locate Mike Zhao-Beckenridge who has been missing since Friday. Mike was not at school at 3pm when his mother went to collect him. Police think he may have left the school about lunchtime.

"Naturally as time goes on we become increasingly concerned to locate Mike. We continue to ask members of the public who may have seen Mike or his stepfather, John Beckenridge, to contact us immediately. We also would like to hear from anyone who has information that might help us to locate them," says Detective Sergeant Mark McCloy of Invercargill Police.

Mike was believed to be with John Beckenridge (64), also known as John Robert Lundh, Knut Goran Roland Lundh, or John Bradford. Mr Beckenridge was Mike's estranged stepfather and his contact with Mike was in breach of a parenting order, Det Sgt Cloy said.

Police said they could be anywhere in NZ. They were thought to be travelling in a dark blue Volkswagen Touareg stationwagon, registration number DUY263.

Mike was of solid build and of Asian descent. John Beckenridge was 1.75m in height, of medium build and of Swedish descent.

Since publicising Mike's disappearance, they had received some new information, but it had not resulted in finding the pair.

If anyone saw the pair they should contact police on 111 immediately. Anyone with information that might help find them should contact the police's Southern District Command Centre on 03 471-5002.

Information could also be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
