The winner of this match will enter the quarterfinal stage and an open draw, which will take the club north, in the unlucky event of drawing an away fixture.
Both teams are coming off recent good wins in the cup. Roslyn dismantled Northern 8-1 two weeks ago and Caversham beat Dunedin Technical 4-0 in their rescheduled match last Saturday.
With waterlogged pitches forcing training ground closures earlier in the week, both coaches enjoyed getting outdoors on Thursday to prepare for the knockout tie.
Roslyn will take a settled team into the match. It has a full squad available, with the exception of Ajay Cunningham, who has recommenced light training with the team after an extended spell on the sidelines recuperating from a groin injury.
Roslyn's attack will be led by Damian Foster, in close partnership with Fraser Cameron. They should receive good support from arguably the best central midfielder in Dunedin, Sam Mepham. The Roslyn skipper is in top form, contributing all over the park and his tireless efforts each week are contributing to the Ellis Park club's lead in the premier league.
Caversham will be without its main attacking weapon, Tom Jackson, who is out of town, due to work commitments.
His replacement, Ant Hancock, will take on the responsibility of shaping Caversham's chances in the attacking zone.
Striker Bradley Scott will undertake a late fitness test before the game, after sustaining a minor quad injury last weekend. Brothers Mike and Will Smith are absent, due to an overseas family commitment.
Caversham coach Tim Horner will have explosive firepower on the bench, with converted goalkeeper Callum Flaws itching to make a mark on the game if the opportunity arises.
The premier league will reboot itself this weekend with three matches scheduled after extreme weather last week lead to multiple postponements.
Mosgiel will host neighbour Green Island at Memorial Park. Mosgiel is keen to accumulate some points and move up the table after a disappointing first half of the competition.
Dunedin Technical will take on University in the early game at the Caledonian Ground, while Northern will host Old Boys in the late game.
