League: Warriors trainer leaves for Roosters

The Warriors and high performance manager Craig Walker have reached mutual agreement for a release from his contract, enabling him to take up a position with the Sydney Roosters.

Walker joined the Warriors in 2005.

"We appreciate Craig's efforts over almost seven years," said Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah.

"He has made a significant contribution in what is a highly specialised area in the NRL these days.

"Craig's returning home to the Eastern Suburbs in Sydney with his family in time for the pre-season. We thank Craig and wish him all the best in the future."

Walker said he had much to thank the Warriors for.

"It was a great move coming to the club and I'm grateful for the opportunity I've had to work here," he said.

"It's sad leaving but I've got great memories from my time, the football staff and the players."

Walker was with the Roosters before he joined the Warriors.

His departure coincides with the appointment of new coach Matthew Elliott.
