It was a good start. A thousand tickets were snapped up
yesterday for the rugby league match between the Warriors and
the Broncos at Forsyth Barr Stadium on February 23.
"Ticket sales went on public sale at 9am and we tracked
nicely all day," Forsyth Barr Stadium marketing and
communications executive Sarah Jones said.
It will be the first rugby league match at the stadium.
Jones said the North, West and South Stands would be open for
the game. They have capacity for a crowd of 23,000.
It will be the first time NRL teams have played in Dunedin
and they have been attracted to the city for the pre-season
game because of the reputation of the covered stadium.
The Warriors have played games in Christchurch and on the
West Coast, but it will be the first time the Broncos have
played rugby league in the South Island.
