Multisport: Six Otago triathletes for world champs

Six Otago triathletes have been named in the New Zealand team for the world championships in Canada later this year.

The list is headed by Columba College pupil Holly Barclay, who won the girls under-18 title at the New Zealand championships in Auckland last weekend.

Otago has three representatives in the under-23 grade: Hannah Sturmer, Sophie Wilkinson and Karli Haugh.

Sturmer was third at the national championships, Wilkinson fifth and Haugh eighth.

Karen Blackwood, who finished third at the national championships, has been selected in the women's aged 40 to 49 grade.

Veteran Lindsay Dey, who finished third in Auckland in the men's aged 65 to 69 grade, will be competing in this grade. Morris Hall, who finished seventh in Auckland, was not available for the world championships.

The world championships will be held in Edmonton from August 29 to September 2.
