Ben Smith marries in Wanaka

Otago All Black and Highlander Ben Smith has confirmed his marriage to long-standing partner triathlete and basketballer Katie Menzies in Wanaka on Friday.

However, Mr Smith declined to comment further because of an agreement the couple had with a women's magazine.

The pair were married  at Olive Grove, at Barn Pinch Farm.

The couple's plans to marry have been no secret. They were engaged in 2011, and in July last year told the New Zealand Woman's Weekly they were planning their wedding.

Photographs of Smith's stag party appeared in the media in December.

Smith has been a standout player for the All Blacks at wing and full back since first being selected late in 2009.

Mrs Smith claims to still be able to beat Smith to the top of Wanaka's Mt Iron track.
