The Lions leapt in front of the Sharks to top the Africa 2 Conference with a 24-9 win in their Super Rugby match in Durban.
An Andries Ferreira try opened the Lions account, before a conversion and two penalty goals from Elton Jantjies gave them a 13-0 lead.
The Sharks hit back via the boot of Joe Pietersen, before Lionel Mapoe added a further five-pointer for the Lions.
Pietersen kicked another goal on halftime to take the score to 18-6, before the Lions kicked two penalties to one in a try-less second half.
