Rugby: Sharks edge Jaguares in thriller

A last-minute Pat Lambie penalty goal has given the Durban-based Sharks a 25-22 victory over the Jaguares in a Super Rugby thriller in Buenos Aires.

Lambie slotted his sixth penalty of the match to give the five-eighth 20 points and help the Sharks an unlikely win after they were outscored three tries to one.

The Jaguares, who had tries from Tomas Lavanini, Martin Landajo and Santiago Botta and seven points from Nicolas Sanchez, had touchdowns by Matias Orlando and Emiliano Boffelli disallowed and were held up over the line on numerous occasions.

The home side, however, lacked discipline in their own half, allowing Lambie kick the Sharks to victory.

The Sharks remain second in the South Africa two conference, while the Jaguares picked up a point for losing by seven points or less to remain third behind the Durban side.
