Tournament top seed and world No.8 Caroline Wozniacki enjoyed the support of some familiar fans at the ASB Classic on Wednesday night.

A group of men wearing novelty Viking hats and custom-made T-shirts emblazoned with the slogan, "Welcome Back Wozniacki from the Horny Ones" were hard to miss courtside as the blonde tennis bombshell emerged.

The centrepiece of the T-shirts featured a celebratory group photo from the 2009 event, of them pulling Wozniacki off her feet and into a warm group hug.

"We've been here for 10 years straight and 2009 was Caroline Wozniacki's last time here," explained group ring leader Craig Rendell of Whitford.

"We were in box 24 then, just alongside of us here and from the photo you can see my mate Brad actually dragged poor old Caroline into the corporate box after she had won a second-round match.

"That went viral around the world so we decided to welcome her back from 'The Horny Ones'."

The Horny Ones are a regular feature of the Auckland tournament.

"We got offered that box again but this one is a bit bigger so there's plenty of room for Caroline afterwards."

The group doubted that Wozniacki would remember them but were determined to show their support vocally, during her second-round match against American Taylor Townsend.

"Last time round we had Sweet Caroline playing and serenaded her with it so that might come out tonight after a couple more rums."

Also spotted enjoying the day's play at the ASB Tennis Centre yesterday was socialite Sally Ridge.
