Reducing light pollution in Central Otago will be the subject of a free meeting in Bannockburn next week.
Astronomer Steve Butler, of Invercargill, will speak on "dark skies", at the Coronation Hall in Bannockburn on Saturday, February 13, at 7pm, co-organiser David Crook said.
"Central Otago has wonderful, starry night skies and we want to focus on how we can reduce light pollution.
There's certain types of street lighting you can use in towns which is effective but doesn't add so much to the light pollution," he said.
