About 16,500 people visited the Upper Clutha A and P Show in Wanaka at the weekend, show president Fe Howie estimated.
Mrs Howie said the 74th annual show was "unbelievably busy" and crowd-size estimates were conservative.
"The crowd behaviour was exemplary and I thought everyone was having a thoroughly relaxing time."
