Senior Constable Ian Henderson has the car-badge blues.

He has recovered a bag containing about 30 car badges but has no idea to whom they all belong.

Badges can cost $100-$200 to replace.

The haul includes badges from Volkswagon, Toyota, Audi, Peugeot, Subaru, Mazda and Ford vehicles.

The most unusual badge was Ssang Song Motor, a Korean car with a Mercedes engine, Snr Const Henderson said.

Snr Const Henderson is keen for people who have had car badges stolen to get in touch with him on (03) 443-7272 or in person at the Wanaka police station.

An 18-year-old Wanaka youth was arrested on Thursday night and charged with damaging an Audi car belonging to a Tarras farmer and theft of an Audi badge.
