A 24-year-old man has been arrested after a police chase in Christchurch early this morning.
Police first spotted the driver due to his unusual "behaviour" near New Brighton and Wainoni Rds about 2.20am on Wednesday.
A police spokesperson said officers attempted to pull the vehicle over but a pursuit was initiated which was soon abandoned due to the "manner of driving".
Further enquiries after the pursuit led police to a property on Kerrs Rd, Avonside, where the man was taken into custody.
He has been charged with failing to stop and driving dangerously. He was due to appear in court on Wednesday.
