Police appeal for info on Heathcote Valley death

Canterbury police are investigating a sudden death in Heathcote Valley. 

The death in Horotane Valley Rd on Friday was not believed to be suspicious.

Police are looking to identify the deceased, thought to be a man in his 30s or 40s, with a distinctive birthmark on his left forearm.

When located by officers the man was wearing a black long-sleeved woollen jersey, black trousers and brown and grey tramping boots.

A backpack was also found with him.

Police are asking the public to contact them with any information that could help with inquiries.
