The final session of Ashburton Museum’s school holiday programme was a busy affair and all about creating "face-up" mirrors.

Some 25 youngsters booked in, or were able to join the two-hour session in the education room.

Participants created mirror art using a reflective disc, coloured clay and their own imaginations.

They were shown how to marble the clay on one side of the small mirror and creations took on the form of smiley faces, bunnies and even a dragon.

Creativity was taken a step further by some, with mirrors fitted into cloth bags complete with cleaning clothes inside.
