KFC pulls Finger Lickin’ Good slogan due to Covid-19

KFC is set to temporarily ditch the use of its classic Finger Lickin’ Good slogan, because it "doesn’t quite fit" with the Covid-19 outbreak.

The company has released new images of advertising posters and packaging with the slogan blurred and pixelated.

KFC said the slogan will return “when the time is right”.

“We find ourselves in a unique situation - having an iconic slogan that doesn’t quite fit in the current environment,” said Catherine Tan-Gillespie, global chief marketing officer at KFC."

Said a KFC spokesperson on Facebook: "Just please, forget the thing we normally suggest. You know, that thing you used to do with your tongue after finishing a delicious piece of our chicken.

"We get it. It’s not easy. There’s a reason it’s been our slogan for over half a century.

"But the world’s drastically changed of late. And as soon as we can embrace the change, the sooner we can all get back to doing what we do best."
