Baroque chamber music will ring out from St Peter's Anglican Church when an internationally renowned harpsichord player and cellist perform for the first time in Queenstown.

Czech harpsichord player Edita Keglerova and Christchurch Symphony Orchestra associate principle cellist Tomas Hurnik announced their New Zealand summer tour this week, which takes in nine venues from Waimate North to Dunedin.

The duo make their debut in Queenstown on Sunday, February 21. The hour-long show will see them play Domenico Gabrielli's Sonata in A major, Johann Jakob Froberger's Suite C major, Johann Sebastian Bach's Suite No 1 G major for solo cello and Fantasia and Fugue in A minor,
with Francois Francoeur's Sonata E major as the finale.

Keglerova travels to New Zealand for the first time and arrives in Christchurch on February 7 for a week of rehearsals with Hurnik, before they head for Nelson for the first concert on February 16.

From her home in Prague she said in a statement: "I am absolutely delighted to have this opportunity to visit beautiful New Zealand and present these wonderful programmes with my dear friend Tomas.''

Edita Keglerova and Tomas Hurnik, St Peter's Anglican Church, Queenstown, Sunday, February 21, at 7pm. Adults $20, seniors $15 and students $10. Tickets available on the door from 6.30pm.
