Ask a Chef reveals the secrets of those superb dishes you ate in cafes and restaurants and wanted to try yourself.

Makes 18 slices

1 packet of budget fudge cookies

1 can condensed milk

150g butter

1 block of caramel chocolate

2 packs of Malteasers

2 tbsp cocoa powder

550g of dark chocolate

Method

Blend cookies in a blender and set aside in a bowl.

Into another bowl add condensed milk, butter, caramel chocolate and cocoa.

Melt in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between each interval.

Add the Malteasers and chocolate mixture to the cookies and mix together.

Leave it to cool for 10 minutes or so. Then mix in half the Malteasers.

Press the mixture into a large slice tin.

Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between each interval.

Pour over the top of the base and sprinkle over the remaining Malteasers.

Let sit on the bench for about an hour before refrigerating overnight. Then cut into slices.
