Trio deny supplying alcohol to boy

Two men and a woman have pleaded not guilty to giving alcohol to a nine-year-old who appeared drunk at a Hamilton skate park.

Michael King, Lucy Snowden and Kali Tiloi were excused from appearing in person at the Hamilton District Court today, each charged with supplying alcohol to a nine-year-old.

Their lawyers confirmed they had earlier entered not guilty pleas.

The trio, whose names have not been published before, received public attention after a bystander uploaded YouTube footage of the boy, seemingly drunk, at Fairfield Park in January.

The boy's father had earlier welcomed the charges being laid by police against the trio.

Judge David Ruth ordered them to appear on 12 June for a hearing.

Under the charge they face they can only be fined and not serve a term of imprisonment.
