A motorist who died in a crash near Ashburton on Friday night has today been named by police.
Terry Henry Munday (63) died after apparently failing to negotiate a moderate bend on Grahams Rd, Tinwald at around 11pm.
He was the only one in the car and died at the scene.
"The vehicle appears to have left the road at a moderate bend," said Senior Sergeant Scott Banfield.
"Police investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash."
The death has been referred to the coroner.
Police and Victim Support are working with Mr Munday's family.
