The devastated father of the skipper, killed today when his
boat capsized near Greymouth, has spoken about the pain of
losing is only son in the tragedy.
Police have released the name of the swimmer who drowned
while trying to cross the mouth of the Mokihinui River, 46km
northeast of Westport, on Tuesday afternoon.
An Oregon man raced along the Clackamas River but couldn't
keep up with his 6-year-old daughter who had fallen into the
stream and was swept on downriver, authorities said.
