Charges of alleged cannabis possession

A 27-year-old motorist was arrested for alleged possession of 1g of cannabis on Friday night during a routine stop by police. A drug-driver test was conducted.

Police are waiting for the results of a blood sample.

• A 27-year-old Irish man was arrested for allegedly urinating in a central telephone box on Saturday at 1.50am.

The man had been arrested twice before but had been dealt with by pre-charge warnings.

He was charged with disorderly behaviour and will appear in Queenstown District Court.

• A 21-year-old Arrowtown man was allegedly abusive towards a group of tourists in Camp St at 2am.

The man was charged with disorderly behaviour and will appear in the Queenstown District Court.

• A 34-year-old Queenstown woman was charged with drink-driving after she allegedly registered a breath-alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit on Saturday at 8.24am.

• A 40-year-old man was caught allegedly urinating in a doorway in Searle Lane early on Sunday morning.

• Two British men were arrested for disorderly behaviour after allegedly fighting beside a taxi stand in front of a group of people on Camp St at 4.45am.

• Nine pieces of greenstone were found at a Glenorchy address on Sunday by police executing a search warrant.

Sergeant Keith Newell, of Queenstown, said police acted on information from the public and various sizes and qualities of the stone were seized. Police could not say what the charges would be laid and inquiries were continuing.

• A woman living in a residence on Dart Pl reported on Monday at 9.30am her pink couch had been stolen from her front porch overnight on Saturday.

• A 47-year-old Wanaka man was interviewed by police and arrested on Monday for the alleged assault of a Cromwell man near the Cadillac Club on April 1. Inquiries were continuing, Sgt Newell said.

• A Saudi Arabian national was arrested at his address on Tuesday at 8am for allegedly failing to appear in the Queenstown District Court the day before.
