The weather is forecast to be wet and not suitable for the work.
The substantial maintenance repairs on the bridge include a new concrete dish channel, new handrails and posts and resurfaced bridge approaches.
The bridge will be open before 8am, for one hour from noon to 1pm and after 5pm on Tuesday should the work go ahead.
