Woman injured in fall

A woman was rescued yesterday after falling 30m down a sloping bank while picking fruit on a property near Clyde.

Clyde Chief Fire Officer Richard Davidson said the woman was put on a stretcher after Clyde firefighters arrived at the site, off Fruitgrowers Rd, at 1.59pm.

The incline was walkable, but the woman, in her mid-50s, had a ‘‘crook ankle'' from the fall, he said.

A St John spokesman said the woman was taken to the Alexandra Medical Centre with moderate injuries.
