Otago has kept its one-day title prospects alive with a comprehensive victory against Auckland in Invercargill yesterday.

Neil Broom smacked 109 to help his side reach 312 for seven. Auckland was 159 for eight after 34 overs when poor weather forced players from the field.

Otago won by 125 runs on the Duckworth-Lewis Method.

Jacob Duffy took three for 16 from his six overs, and the other five Otago bowlers chipped in with a wicket each.

Defending champions Central Districts fought back to beat Canterbury in Christchurch and will host the final at Pukekura Park in New Plymouth on January 30.

Otago will travel to Christchurch to play Canterbury in the preliminary final on Wednesday.

The winner will join Central in the final.
