Christchurch has been assigned the first test, which gets under way at Hagley Oval on November 28.
The series will move to Wellington where the second test at the Basin Reserve begins on December 6.
The final test is at Hamilton’s Seddon Park on December 14-18.
Interest in the series is expected to be strong and that may have counted against the University Oval, which has a smaller capacity. The Black Caps have not played a test in Dunedin since March 2017.
