Lydia Ko enjoyed a respectable return to the LPGA Tour last night, recording an opening round two-under par 69 at the Sime Darby in Malaysia.

Ko has been out of action for more than a month after opting to rest an ailing left rest that has been suffering from a cyst.

The 17-year-old showed few signs of ill health in Kuala Lumpur, mixing three birdies and a bogey to sit in a share of 16th place. Ko, the world No 3, trails pace-setter and top-ranked American Stacey Lewis by four strokes at the $2.6m tournament.
