Erin, nee McGimpsey (26) beauty therapist and primary school teacher and Nathan Milne (25) builder - Winton

When and where did you meet?

We meet 9 years ago, at high school, in Nathans maths class where I had been moved in too - which is a whole other story! We hadn't meet or seen each other before then, but we definitely noticed each other this day.

The proposal

It was a Sunday evening on the last day of November 2014, after a romantic dinner of sausages and chips (fine dining at its best) that Nathan and Harley (our gorgeous dog child) had the best surprise in store for me. I was sitting in the lounge watching some intimate animal scenes on a documentary on the t.v. (awkwardly) when Nathan came on up to me and started talking about our journey so far and how perfect it has been and how perfect we were, it was so incredibly sweet but not out of the ordinary as he is always so sweet, so i wasn't thinking any thing of it until Nathan called Harley over. I noticed that Harley seemed extra chuffed with himself and with a box in his mouth - in this same moment Nathan got down on one knee. Nathan preceded to get the slobbery box off Harley and proposed to me right then and there. I was in shock and slightly drowning in my own tears from happiness but managed to say "no" after a minute or so quickly followed by a "yes" to Nathans relief followed by increasingly more tears.

When and where was the wedding?

The 12th of February 2016 at The Hideaway in Lochiel.

Why did you choose the venue?

The Hideaway is simply stunning, it has everything you may want and more, and is close to home.

The dresses and suits

Our bridal party are a dream team and they scrubbed up so great that they looked like they just walked out of a magazine. The girls wore a beaded lace bodice bridesmaid dress, peach pearl in colour. Rose gold glitter heels and daisy pearl and diamond earrings finished off the look. I wore a crisp white French lace appliqué dress that stretches over the head and down the body without any boning or structure. It has a high neck, open back, and fishtail skirt. The boys wore navy blue Merino tailored suits with complementary brown shoes and belts, navy ties and white handkerchiefs polished the look. Nathan wore a black bow tie with black buttons on his white shirt to set him apart.

The caterers

Country Manor Catering - Outstanding service, staff and food!

Highlight of the day

The whole day was so amazing with so many incredible memories. We loved it from start to finish. But, here are some of the highlights... Nathans Nana (Pop) pinching my bum and just having the best time I have ever seen her have, would have to be up there!! Khellsey-Anna Atley our beautiful song bird we had at our ceremony performed songs that meant something to us as well as singing a song that we wrote. She is such a treasure. Getting lipstick all over Nathans face at the ceremony was a highlight too as we had kissed quite a few times before the ceremony while getting our bridal party shoot photos done, so this lead me into a false sense of security as no lipstick remained on his face then, but for some reason it did when we were announced husband and wife. Typical. Poor Nathan. Lastly, we loved having our family and friends altogether and seeing everyone so happy and having a great time!

Our photographer

Erin Issacs from Acorn Photography. Erin went above and beyond! It is so hard to choose a favorite as family, friends and our fur boy Harley mean so much to us. So we will treasure all these photographed moments forever..
