Covid-19: People in Christchurch flock to testing stations again

There are long queues of cars at testing centres in Christchurch and Auckland again this morning as people wait for a Covid-19 swab.

In Christchurch, the Pages Rd queue stretched down two neighbouring streets.

These cars aren't parked, they are waiting in line.

Yesterday afternoon the line at the Orchard Rd Covid-19 testing centre in Christchurch stretched nearly 2km.

Meanwhile in Auckland yesterday more than 3000 people went through testing stations.

Four new pop-up centres opened in the city - at Devonport, St Lukes, Wairau Valley and Albany - with some already attracting lines of cars.

The permanent centres have extended their hours.
