The city's largest indoor market is preparing to open it's doors next week.
Construction of the Riverside Market on the corner of Lichfield St and Oxford Tce is nearly complete and it is expected to open on Monday. There will be about 30 food outlets and 40 market stalls but not all will be open on Monday,
The $80m development, by the Peebles Group led by Richard Peebles and partners Mike Percasky and Kris Inglis, covers 3500sq m.
Video: Riverside Market under construction in February with developer Richard Peebles.It is estimated to bring in 10,000 people per day and up to 15,000 at the weekends and there are 3000 car parks for its users.
The market is designed to support small businesses, the community and the environment by reducing its carbon footprint and minimising packaging and waste.
Shoppers will be encouraged to bring their own shopping baskets, beeswax food wraps, glass jars and keep cups to minimise the impact on the environment.
