In October, the 45-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman - both with name suppression - were charged in the Christchurch District Court in connection with Blackmoore's murder.
Blackmoore was 10 weeks pregnant when she was stabbed 39 times in the kitchen-dining area of her home in Wainoni on August 17, 1995.
The man entered the not guilty plea in the High Court at Christchurch on Tuesday morning. The woman pleaded not guilty earlier this month.
He is due to appear again in February.
