Vehicle and horse collide in Swannanoa

A person is thought to be seriously  injured after a collision involving a vehicle and horse in North Canterbury.

In a statement, police said they were called to Tram Rd near the intersection with Whites Rd in Swannanoa, in the Waimakariri  District, about 6.55pm today. 

They said initial indications were that one person had been seriously injured.

The condition of the horse was not known. 

Tram Rd has been closed and motorists should avoid the area if possible, police said.
