The festival at Port Otago’s A Shed & Cruise Ship Terminal will be on September 30 and tickets went on sale yesterday.
Chairwoman Jo Kidston said it was great to have the festival back on the agenda. It had grown from a small community festival to a high-quality day out with a local touch.
"We are so excited to be able to bring back the Port Chalmers Seafood Festival this year after a Covid-disrupted few years," she said.
"We have a dedicated group that work hard to make an awesome day out that showcases the best of Dunedin, and we’re proud to show it off."
The two-yearly festival will once again aim to build on success, with a mostly local entertainment lineup and an improved attendee experience with more seating areas and smoother bar operations.
"We have such a fantastic festival already and this year’s will see even more improvements as we just keep getting such great feedback on how we can do even better," Ms Kidston said.
"Being able to shine a light on Port Chalmers and Dunedin is the aim of the festival, and knowing that we always give back to our community makes the festival a real win-win for our locals."
With the main vendor area being inside Port Otago’s A Shed and Cruise Ship terminal, and free buses to and from Dunedin’s Railway station, there was not really any excuse to miss it, she said.
