The drunk 25-year-old Dunedin man first came to the attention of police after he was spotted at a property in Otakou Golf Course Rd, Otakou, at 7.45pm breaching both a trespass and harassment notice, Sergeant Matt Lee said.
While at the property, the man had a confrontation with neighbours and punched a man in the head.
He then pushed a woman to the ground.
The man drove off and police soon received another complaint from the public, this time from John Wilson Ocean Drive in St Kilda.
At 8.30pm, the man had made his way to the area and started to act inappropriately towards a group of women unknown to him.
He grabbed one of the women, asked her to get into his vehicle and give him a ‘‘kiss’’, Sgt Lee said.
She did not get into his vehicle and police arrived and arrested the man.
He was taken back to the Central Dunedin Police Station where he underwent breath testing procedures.
The man recorded a breath alcohol level of 758mcg — the legal limit is 250mcg.
He was held in custody overnight and would appear in Dunedin District Court this morning charged with injures with intent to injure, two charges of common assault, criminal harassment, trespass, indecently assaults female and breath alcohol level over 400mcgs.
