The 12th anniversary of the devastating Canterbury earthquakes was marked in the city on Wednesday.
Hundreds of Cantabrians braved the rain and cold to attend the memorial service at Oi Manawa Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial.
One-hundred-and-eighty-five people were killed by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake in 2011.
The crowd observed one minute’s silence at 12.51pm, then the names of all those who lost their lives were read aloud.
