Coastal Spirit SAS wrapped up the New World Women's Premiership, their fifth on end, when they overrun Waimak 10 - 1.

Cashmere Technical also racked up a big win when winning 10 - 0 over Nomads, with Universities securing third overall by defeating Ferrymead Bays 3 - 0.

With 13 of the 15 rounds completed, Coastal SAS have the maximum 39 points, six clear of Technical, with Universities on 22. Waimak has 13, Bays 9 and Nomads yet to claim a point.

Charlotte Roche put Waimak in front after 17 minutes to join Lucrettia Taylor as the side top scorer this season.

Two goals in the space of two minutes, on the half-hour to Mel Cameron, saw Coastal SAS lead at the break.

Cameron completed her hat-trick just after the break before Britney-lee Nicholson scored the first of her three goals, with Cameron then adding her fourth before being subbed off.

Coastal SAS added half their goals in the final 15 minutes, with the other goals going to Rebecca Lake, Jayda Stewart and captain Whitney Hepburn.

Quick goals to Kate Loye, Jonelle Arthur, Emma Kench, Nicola Dominikovich and Lara Wall meant Technical was five up after 17 minutes, with Wall and Kench both bagging a double before the break. Kench went on to score four goals, with Loye also claiming a double.

Universities took an early lead against Bays when Erin Roxborough found the back of the net after four minutes, with Frankie Morrow then doubling the lead midway into the opening half. On the hour mark, Morrow completed the scoring to wrap up the students third win over Bays this season. 

In the penultimate round, Technical host Coastal SAS, Bays is home to Waimak with Nomads entertaining Universities.

Bays And Nomads top table

Ferrymead Bays and Nomads top the New World Southern Qualifying League after claiming their second win in as many rounds.

Bays come out on top of Halswell, winning 3 - 0 with Nomads edging Western 3 - 2 (with Nomads finishing the game a player down) and FC Twenty11 securing their first win in the SQL when defeating Waimak 4 - 0.

Bays top the table on goal difference over Nomads, with both on 6 points. FC and Halswell are on 3, with Western and Waimak both yet to secure a point.

Bays took the lead when Chris Murphy opened the scoring after 25 minutes, with Callum Smith then doubling the lead in added time before the break.

The three points were assured when Alex Meaclem found the back of the net with 20 to play, with Bays going on to collect their second clean sheet in as many weeks.

Liam Thompson put Nomads ahead after four minutes, with Declan Hickford adding a second in the 18th to put Nomads in control at the break. Daniel Thoms extended the lead, but Nomads then went a player down minutes later when Anton Smith received a second yellow card for handling outside the area. Western took advantage of the extra man almost immediately when Aaron McDonald finished well and claimed a second with nine minutes to play, which made for a hectic finish to the game, with Nomads doing enough to hang on for the three points.

FC was untroubled to account for Waimak, with Martin Lopez opening the scoring after 28 minutes and Harrison Bowman doubling the lead just before the break. In the final ten minutes, two goals blew out the scoreline, the first to FC's captain, Conor Clarke, with Bowman grabbing his second in added time. 

The two top sides go head to head in Round 3, with Bays having the home advantage over Nomads, Waimak faces Halswell with Western facing FC.

Log-jam at top of championship trophy

There is a log jam at the top of the New World Championship Trophy, with four teams claiming one win each after Round 2 games were played.

Universities recorded a big win when accounting for St Albans Shirley 5 - 0 with Parklands coming from behind to defeat Burwood 2 - 1, with Mid Canterbury having the 'bye'. Burwood, Universities, Mid Canterbury and Parklands all have three points, with Burwood having the better goal difference. SAS remains points-less, with Universities and Mid Canterbury having a game in hand.

Tabokai Tausi opened the scoring for Universities with a double from Adam Doherty on either side of halftime, taking the game away from SAS. Luke Whitwell added the fourth midway into the second half, with substitute Robert Methven adding the final goal for the students in the last ten minutes of play.

Burwood took the lead when Kane Kilbride scored the only goal of the opening half. Stephen Livingstone levelled just after the break with the winning goal coming with nine minutes to play when a shot from Danny Lingard was turned into his own net by the Burwood keeper.

In the next round, Mid Canterbury host Universities with SAS at home to Parklands as Burwood have the 'bye'.
