Organisers of the two-week Methven Scarecrow Trail 2024, which opened at the weekend, are overwhelmed with the number of entries from scarecrow makers.
"So much so that we had to close off entries early," said Gillian Heald.
Heald organises the popular annual trail with her daughter Karyn.
The surge in demand had been from first-time scarecrow makers.
There are more than 30 entries, created in line with this year’s theme 'children’s movies - animated characters'.
The trail involves visitors buying trail maps and going from scarecrow to scarecrow around the town, writing down their best guess of the character each scarecrow represents.
The Methven Scarecrow Trail 2024 runs for the next two weeks during the school holidays.
Trail maps are at the Methven iHub Information Centre and Methven Four Square Supermarket.
