The book - Welcome to Sex: Your no-silly-questions guide to sexuality, pleasure and figuring it out - written by former Dolly Doctor and youth health expert Dr Melissa Kang and TV personality Yumi Stynes has been controversial since its launch in May.
The book traverses everything from consent and sexuality to sexual positions and was written in response to questions from adolescents.
Last month a resident addressed Selwyn district councillors about her concerns, saying the book was “disgusting”.

"It is available for children aged 10 and 11 years old and up, but the authors have stated it is suitable for mature 8-year-olds."
Following a district council review, which was requested by chief executive Sharon Mason, the book will stay.
"Freedom of Expression is a core tenet of public libraries," Mason said in the report.
"While public libraries have an obligation to adhere to any restrictions or classifications by Te Mana Whakaatu Classification Office, public libraries do not restrict access to book and digital collections unless there is a legal obligation to do this as directed by the Office.
"Librarians acknowledge that everything in library collections will not necessarily appeal to everyone - the decision of what content to borrow or engage with is up to the individual or guidance by parents or caregivers."
One hard copy and a digital copy of the book are available in the district’s libraries, and five hard copies and a digital copy are available in Christchurch City Libraries.
