One person seriously injured after three-vehicle crash in South Canterbury

One person has been seriously injured in a crash involving three vehicles south of Timaru.

The crash happened on the Waimate Highway, near Pareroa River Rd, about 12.10pm, a Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson said.

A patient with serious injuries has been transported to Timaru Hospital, a St John spokesman said.

Crews from the Washdyke, Timaru and St Andrews stations responded to the crash.
