'Your efforts did not go unnoticed': Father, son tried to save Canterbury motorcyclist's life

Police have released the name of the man who died following a motorcycle crash north of Palmerston on Saturday.

He was Trevor John Harris, 57, of Timaru.

Police said they were alerted to the crash at the intersection of Horse Range Road and Trotters Gorge Road at 2.50pm on Saturday, October 11.

Sergeant Tony Woodbridge said police would also like to acknowledge the members of the public who came to the victim’s aid.

"It was a father and his son, who stopped and helped by administering CPR before emergency services arrived.

"Your efforts did not go unnoticed," Sgt Woodbridge said.

Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
