The auction is held once every two years to raise money for Lyttelton Primary School. Since it was first held in 2005, it has raised more than $500,000, including $70,000 in 2023.
The art was on show at the school and the auction gala was sold out.
Two pieces by the late Lyttelton artist Bill Hammond went for $9000 and $8500.
Said event organiser Taff Givlray: "It was awesome, obviously our hearts were filled.
"That’s what we do it for, community spirit, creativity and the kids.”
Givlray said the auction gained attention after the event’s advertising banners were stolen and vandalised last month.
A large banner was taken from Norwich Quay on October 5.
A replacement was put up and then vandalised a week later.
Police appealed for information about a woman seen on CCTV footage at Norwich Quay.
The woman came forward to police and assisted with their inquiries.
The original sign was handed back to organisers.
No charges have been laid after the incidents.
Gilvray was stunned by the community support, which included offers of free advertising. Lyttelton Scout members also braved the rain to fix the damaged banner.
