Firefighters attended a blaze at a Christchurch motel on Saturday.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman said just after 3pm they were called to the Ilam Motel on Riccarton Rd.
The fire broke out in one of the motel units and took about an hour to put out.
The fire was not deemed to be suspicious.
Smoke could be seen coming from the building but no flames.
