Bill’s trusty Ford a big show drawcard

The annual car-show fundraiser was held last Saturday, beginning in the Rangiora RSA car park, then moving to the Loburn Reserve.

At the end of the show, the cars were taken on a tour through the Charles Upham Retirement Village during the return trip to Rangiora, to the enjoyment of residents.

The Model T is owned by Bill Woodhouse, of Rangiora, who bought the restored vintage beauty 12 months ago.

During last year’s lockdown, he built a miniature version for his six-year-old grandson, Braxton. Bill also owns a 1929 Ford Model A.

Car show organiser Ros Steans said 67 cars and 14 vintage tractors took part. Entries were slightly down on last year, which she thought might be because of the long Waitangi Day weekend.

The Rangiora Pottery Group also took part, providing the catering at the reserve as a fundraiser. Members also had some of their pottery work on sale.

The group’s tutor, Michael Michaels, gave pottery-making demonstrations during the day.
